Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has signed a five-year partnership with Air New Zealand to modernize the airline’s digital infrastructure, enhancing its AI-driven innovation and customer experience.
The collaboration will improve fleet management, crew scheduling, and ground services, boosting operational efficiency across the airline’s business. The agreement was signed in Mumbai in the presence of New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, Tata Group Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Air New Zealand CEO Greg Foran, and TCS CEO & MD K Krithivasan.
With a 460-member team in Auckland, TCS serves over 20 major clients in banking, retail, construction, manufacturing, and local government in the region.
Greg Foran, CEO of Air New Zealand, highlighted that the airline has already seen the benefits of working with TCS since September 2024, tapping into its digital expertise. He emphasized TCS’s role in Cargo Digital Transformation and Digital Retail improvements, which will elevate the airline’s digital capabilities.
K. Krithivasan, CEO & MD of TCS, stated that the partnership will set new standards for efficiency, sustainability, and customer engagement in the aviation sector.
Air New Zealand, which operates 3,400 weekly flights across 49 destinations, aims to become a digitally enabled airline of the future. With 98 aircraft, including Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and Airbus A320s, this collaboration marks a significant step in its digital evolution.
