Xiaomi 16 Series Launch Nears: Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 & 100W Fast Charging Confirmed
Xiaomi’s next-generation flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi 16 series, have surfaced on China’s Compulsory Certification (3C) website, hinting at their imminent launch and revealing key specifications — most notably support for 100W wired fast charging.
Expected to debut in late September or early October in China, the lineup is rumored to include four models: the Xiaomi 16, Xiaomi 16 Pro, Xiaomi 16 Ultra, and a brand-new compact Pro Mini variant.
Xiaomi 16 Series: Key Details from 3C Listing
According to well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, three devices with model numbers 25098PN5AC, 2509FPN0BC, and 25113PN0EC have appeared on the 3C certification site. These are believed to correspond to the Xiaomi 16, Xiaomi 16 Pro, and the Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini respectively. All three are listed with 100W wired charging support.
While the Xiaomi 16 Ultra is expected to be the top-tier model in the series, it hasn’t yet shown up on the certification platform.
The Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini is tipped to be a high-end compact device, offering flagship-level specs in a smaller form factor — potentially appealing to users who prefer powerful yet pocket-friendly phones.
Display & Camera Expectations
Leaks suggest the Xiaomi 16 and Pro Mini could feature 6.3-inch displays, while the Pro model may come with a larger 6.8-inch screen. Both the standard and Pro variants are expected to include a triple rear camera system headlined by a 50MP primary sensor (1/1.3-inch), along with a 50MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
Performance & Charging Upgrades
All models in the Xiaomi 16 lineup are expected to be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (Elite 2) chipset, Qualcomm’s next flagship SoC, which hasn’t yet been officially announced.
Battery upgrades also appear to be in store. The Xiaomi 16 is rumored to pack a massive 7,000mAh battery, a significant jump from the 5,400mAh unit in the Xiaomi 15. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 15 Pro featured a 6,100mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging — both of which are likely to be improved in the new series.
