Ola Gen 3 Scooters Receive PLI Certification, Boosting Profitability and EV Push
Ola Electric has officially received certification under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for its Gen 3 scooter lineup. The certification was granted by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India. All seven models in the Gen 3 range have been certified for compliance with PLI eligibility requirements.
Gen 3 Lineup Now PLI-Certified
This milestone means that both Ola’s Gen 2 and Gen 3 electric scooter portfolios are now PLI-certified. The Gen 3 lineup includes:
- S1 Pro 3 kWh
- S1 Pro 4 kWh
- S1 Pro+ 4 kWh
- S1 X 2 kWh
- S1 X 3 kWh
- S1 X 4 kWh
- S1 X+ 4 kWh
These models account for a major share of Ola’s current electric two-wheeler sales.
Strategic Impact of PLI Certification
A spokesperson from Ola Electric Mobility Limited stated:
“Securing PLI certification for our Gen 3 scooters, which form the bulk of our sales, is a critical step towards profitability. This will directly strengthen our cost structure and margins, enabling us to deliver sustainable growth.”
The PLI approval now makes Ola Electric eligible for incentives ranging from 13% to 18% of the Determined Sales Value (DSV) through 2028. This is expected to play a crucial role in the company’s target to become EBITDA positive in its auto business.

At its recent Sankalp annual event, Ola Electric also unveiled several new high-performance EVs:
- S1 Pro Sport (5.2 kWh & 4 kWh)
- S1 Pro+ (5.2 kWh)
- Roadster X+ (9.1 kWh, powered by 4680 Bharat Cell)
Introductory Prices:
- S1 Pro Sport: ₹1,49,999
- S1 Pro+ 5.2 kWh: ₹1,69,999
- Roadster X+: ₹1,89,999
Deliveries for the S1 Pro Sport will begin in January 2026, while the S1 Pro+ 5.2 kWh and Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh will start rolling out during Navratri.

The S1 Pro Sport model introduces significant performance upgrades over the existing top-spec S1 Pro+. Ola claims the 5.2 kWh battery pack enables:
- Range: Up to 320 km on a full charge
- Acceleration: 0–40 km/h in just 2 seconds
- Top Speed: 152 km/h
- Fast Charging: 20% to 80% in just 15 minutes
