The Bharat 24 news channel has acquired the MPEG-4 slot in the e-auction of DD Free Dish. The channel secured this slot in the 78th auction of Doordarshan. This slot is allocated for the period from June 4, 2024, to March 31, 2025.
It’s worth mentioning that Prasar Bharati had invited applications for the vacant MPEG-4 slot on DD Free Dish. The auction process concluded on May 30, 2024.
According to the information provided by Prasar Bharati, the MPEG-4 slot was allocated at a price of 1.6 crore rupees per annum. Applications were invited from all language channels for this allocation.
It’s notable that Bharat24 was launched in 2022 in the presence of the then Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur.
