In a significant step towards empowering women and fostering entrepreneurship, DGS has launched a special scheme offering women a discounted registration fee of just Rs 249/- to become merchants and start earning up to ₹50,000 from the comfort of their homes. In comparison, the registration fee for men is Rs 979/-. This initiative underscores DGS’s commitment to boosting women’s economic independence, in India, by providing them the tools and support they need to start their businesses and become self-reliant.
Mr. Om Narayan Singh, Founder of Digital Gramin Seva, highlighted the advantages women may have with the scheme of the company and get access to financial benefits such as grants, loans, and tax exemptions which will help them to strengthen their ability to work. “Our mission is to bridge the gap between rural people with the digitalised world and give them easy access to the services with feasibility”. Many women dream of working but for some reason they are unable to fulfill it. Under this scheme, we have offered an opportunity to start their own business with the lowest amount.
For the government, this partnership has proved mutually beneficial. Through DGS’s extensive network, citizens can access essential services such as passports, PAN cards, and driving licenses online, saving time and money by avoiding long queues. This collaboration has also contributed to job creation, boosted economic development, and strengthened the country’s competitiveness through the adoption of new technologies.
DGS remains steadfast in its mission to bring about social transformation through digital empowerment with innovative schemes and their impact on the lives of rural women across India.
