With the preparations for the world’s largest gathering already underway, Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, Bank of Baroda (BoB) is one of the banks that have announced setting up AI-driven customer support, full-fledged branches with forex transaction facilities in Prayagraj to aid its visitors.
As the convenor of the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC), Uttar Pradesh, BoB is using Maha Kumbh to promote digital payments, offer AI-driven customer support, and provide robust banking infrastructure.
BoB is setting up two fully functioning branches with facility for forex transaction. The company is setting onsite and mobile ATMs and coins vending machines as per diverse demands of the clients.
The bank has designed its GenAI-backed Virtual Relationship Manager, Aditi. This Virtual relationship manager Aditi is meant for answering all such banking queries to uplift service for pilgrims visiting Mahakumbh Senthilkumar said.

VG Senthilkumar, Head of Marketing and Branding, Bank of Baroda said while speaking with ANI, “As the world’s biggest congregational event that is going to attract a wide cross-section of people, Maha Kumbh Mela offers an ideal opportunity for brands. Especially for banks, since it is important to provide smooth access to banking and payment services for the millions of devotees and tourists who are going to congregate in Maha Kumbh.”
The bank has started the rollout of BC Sakhis and business correspondents to help devotees, tourists, and merchants with their banking needs.
The bank has also provided hundreds of merchant carts through Mela authorities and reflector jackets for volunteers and merchants.
“As a large public sector bank catering to all walks of society, the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 would be an excellent opportunity for the Bank of Baroda to deliver banking services among the Kumbh pilgrims and to grow its brand salience and thereby customer connect too,” Senthilkumar noted.
Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Police has put in a multi-layered security grid around the district of Prayagraj.
The Maha Kumbh is being celebrated after 12 years, and over 45 crore devotees are expected for the event.
During the Maha Kumbh, devotees will gather at the Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati (now extinct), to take a holy dip. The Maha Kumbh will conclude on February 26.
The major bathing rituals (Shahi Snan) of Kumbh Mela will happen on January 14 (Makar Sankranti), January 29 (Mauni Amavasya), and February 3 (Basant Panchami).

Gold prices surged by Rs 400 to reach a new record high of Rs 85,300 per 10 grams in the national capital on Monday, driven by sustained demand from jewellers and stockists, as reported by the All India Sarafa Association. Traders attributed the rise to the sharp depreciation of the rupee and strong trends in international markets. On Saturday, gold of 99.9% purity had closed at Rs 84,900 per 10 grams, while gold of 99.5% purity rose for the fourth consecutive session, climbing Rs 400 to hit another record high of Rs 84,900 per 10 grams. In the previous trading session, the yellow metal had ended at Rs 84,500 per 10 grams.
