Pixel 10 Pro XL Tensor G5 Benchmarks Leak: Weak GPU, Disappointing Performance

Google’s Pixel smartphones have long been admired for their camera capabilities and clean software experience—but raw performance has rarely been their strong suit. That trend appears to continue with the newly launched Pixel 10 series, powered by the latest Tensor G5 chipset. While official benchmark scores are yet to be released, early real-world performance results have started to emerge—and they don’t look promising for the Pixel 10 Pro XL.

Early AnTuTu Scores Raise Eyebrows

A Reddit user, @yAlphax, shared their Pixel 10 Pro XL’s AnTuTu benchmark results, revealing a total score of 1,173,221. While this might seem impressive at first glance, it places Google’s flagship in the same league as mid-premium smartphones like the Honor 200 Pro (Snapdragon 8s Gen 3) and Motorola Edge 60 Pro (Dimensity 8350)—not quite the level expected from a top-tier 2025 flagship.

  • CPU Score: 415,848
This shows roughly a 15% improvement over the Pixel 9 Pro XL, but it’s still comparable to older chipsets like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, and MediaTek Dimensity 9300+. While the CPU performance is respectable, it’s not groundbreaking by 2025 flagship standards.
  • GPU Score: 367,206
This is where the Tensor G5 falls significantly behind. Compared to the Pixel 9 Pro XL’s Mali-G715 MC7 GPU, which scored over 440,000, the new PowerVR IMG DXT-48-1536 GPU in the Pixel 10 Pro XL shows a 20% drop in performance. In fact, its GPU performance aligns more with aging processors like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, launched back in 2021.

Specifications Overview

Despite underwhelming benchmark performance, the Pixel 10 Pro XL still boasts impressive hardware:

  • Display: 6.8-inch LTPO OLED, 1344 x 2992 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate, up to 3000 nits peak brightness, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2
  • Cameras:
    • Rear: 50MP primary, 48MP 5x telephoto, 48MP ultrawide
    • Front: 42MP selfie shooter
  • Battery: 5,200mAh with 45W wired and 25W wireless fast charging
  • Storage & Price: Rs. 1,24,999 for the 256GB variant in India
  • Colors: Jade, Moonstone, Obsidian

Final Thoughts

The early benchmark results suggest that while the Tensor G5 CPU is a modest step forward, the GPU performance takes a noticeable step back, potentially affecting gaming and graphic-intensive applications. For users who prioritize raw performance, the Pixel 10 Pro XL may not live up to its premium price tag—especially when compared to rivals powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 or Dimensity 9400 chipsets.

That said, Google may still win over fans with its camera system, software experience, and exclusive AI features. But as things stand, Tensor G5 seems to lag behind the competition, at least in terms of benchmark numbers.
